first day of many many many days

No one knows I'm doing this blog. I'm just going to start it quietly and see where it takes me. I know I need a place to vent, to think, to report, to motivate, to hold me accoutable. Megan and I had a weightloss blog once, and it worked for a while, but fizzled out after some time. Perhaps the same thing will happen to this one. Or perhaps this will help me change my life.

The good from 2008:

I survived a car accident! Enough said.
My childhood best friend sobered up, and we're repairing our friendship.
I visited Yellowstone National Park (checked that off the to-do list).
I won a Four-Star award at work.
I made amazing new professional contacts.
I at least 'thought' about going on a date (better than I can say for 2k7!).
I hiked up Turtleback Mtn. Almost died doing it, but whatevs...
I had a phenomenal start to the school year.
I learned how to knit.
I kicked ass at karaoke.
I continued to establish some amazing friendships.
Oh, and no biggie, but I started my Masters Degree. I'm getting A's.

To improve for 2009:

NEED to follow some sort of budget.
NEED to track WW points and attend meetings - no matter what or where!
NEED to go on a date.
NEED to lose 20 lbs by my birthday. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT.
Knit a sweater before year-end.

I'll stop here with the so-called resolutions.

UPDATE: I just weighed in at WW @ 260 lbs. Not great; not too bad either. Still 30lbs. less than when I joined WW in 2003. But... 55 lbs. heavier than my lowest recorded weight. Ouch. I suppose I should post a 'Before' pic as well.
