Planning for the weekend

Ok, lots of socializing this weekend. Lunch today with Steph and crew before we go see Hotel for Dogs. I'm going to hope for a salad and beer. Then tonight is Mando's birthday dinner party - veggie lasagna w/ salad and bread and vino. Shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to leave after that, so I don't feel obligated to drink all night. Tomorrow I have the option of three Superbowl parties, but may forgo all of them to do homework, workout and cook at home.

UPDATE:
Not the best (or worst) day ever. First of all, I'm not going to count up the points, mainly because I have no clue what they are... but I will try to take stock of what I ate after my intial 'planning' session yesterday.

For lunch I ended up w/ two pieces of cheesy/meaty pizza... lest they weren't very big. I also had a tasty beer and a salad. I had a few bites of popcorn at the movie, nothing major though. Then I didn't really eat again until dinner. I made the baked ziti for Mandy's birthday with a big spinach salad.... I fed 11 people! Super fun and pretty healthy/tasty. I did have a decent piece of cake too plus a Fat Tire and two small glasses of wine.

I didn't get much in for exercise but will make up for that... the only thing I did yesterday was walk to Whole Foods from Sara's place. That was a much needed, head-clearing walk.

Lost 3!

Happy Weigh-in Day!

I was kind of afraid about weigh-in since I ate f'ing Mexican food for lunch (wft, who DOES that??) But in my defense I tossed the fried taco shells and basically made a salad ... and had some chips... well, a lot of chips actually. Shit.

And then a glass of wine w/ Scott for happy hour.

But THEN I worked out! I kicked that bike's ass.

And lost 3 lbs at WW tonight!!!! WOOOHOOO! Feeling awesome.

I wrote down in my other journal the points for the day, so I'll refrain, but I think I went over about 8 or so. I had that awesome cauliflower soup for dinner w/ peas. Sooooo good.

85 dollars later...........

I went to get some necessities today from Winco and ended up spending way too much money. I loaded up on good stuff though: fish, scallops, chicken, squash, cereal, LC's, lots of fruit and veggies. Then I cleaned out the fridge when I got home, which was in major disarray. All is well now. I discovered some tasty Progresso soups for 2 and 0 points per can! Lots of good food to keep me on track.

Sunday with the black dogs...

Dogsitting Sole today; damn what a maniac! Woke up at Amanda's the morning and had coffee at Sara's... Then came home and exercised all of us. I rode the bike for a solid 30+ minutes, burning over 300 cals. The dogs ran around like lunatics outside. Super fun.

Now I'm eating lunch and getting ready to shower and head back to the eastside.

Wednesday Weigh-In: Down 3 lbs.

Today is fabulous! I lost three pounds at WW... stayed for the meeting; I feel inspired. I'm definitely not alone.

I just got done working out. I road the bike for 20 minutes and did situps. I tried pushups, but failed, so did some chest pushes(?) against the wall. My next goal is to find some good upper body strengthening exercises to do at home/in hotels.

This week's mission: Stay focused when traveling. Eat breakfast and lunch in the room. Eat healthy dinner with minimal drinking.

Had a great conversation with Keri tonight about addiction... what an amazing person she has become. Her support is so important to me; who knew we'd both finally admit our addictions at the same time and see ourselves for who we really are? I love her so much and would give anything to live close to her again. Although for now I think this is the best possible situation for us. We have our own space and lives but can still rely on each other for true friendship. I'm lucky to have so many close friends, but there are few people I feel as comfortable with as I do Keri.

AWESOME DAY, KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually am finding this round of WW pretty fun. I like keeping track and blogging. And with the new bike and mp3 player, I'm very much in the same frame of mind as I was 4 years ago when I lost 90 pounds. This time I *think* I'm doing it for myself... I won't be successful unless I can grasp that.

So regarding this whole "Need to go on a date this year" resolution I have... I'm so scared of that. Like totally freaking out. I think I want to date someone who also battles an eating addiction. How will a non-addict know how hard it is to be me? How can I explain to a "normal" person that I dream about food, think about it 90 percent of the day, and constantly obsess over it. The shame and embarassment I feel around my friends is horrible, and I can't imagine spending an entire lifetime with someone and feeling like that.

One thing I know I for sure, my life does not have to be this lonely.

Day Two and Before Picture

Another day of canceled presentations. This weather is providing too much time at home... which is my enemy. I need to stay busy in order to be successful. Lucy and I took a 20 minute walk, and I'll go swimming in an hour or so. My meal plans are looking good; eating filling foods to stay satisfied. Had a victory at 9:00am when I reached for a snack and realized I wasn't really hungry. Habits need to change; too much idle time and pointless eating.

I pulled out my 'skinny' jeans last night. They will be my constant reminder of what I want- 20 lbs down by 4/13!!!

first day of many many many days

No one knows I'm doing this blog. I'm just going to start it quietly and see where it takes me. I know I need a place to vent, to think, to report, to motivate, to hold me accoutable. Megan and I had a weightloss blog once, and it worked for a while, but fizzled out after some time. Perhaps the same thing will happen to this one. Or perhaps this will help me change my life.

The good from 2008:

I survived a car accident! Enough said.
My childhood best friend sobered up, and we're repairing our friendship.
I visited Yellowstone National Park (checked that off the to-do list).
I won a Four-Star award at work.
I made amazing new professional contacts.
I at least 'thought' about going on a date (better than I can say for 2k7!).
I hiked up Turtleback Mtn. Almost died doing it, but whatevs...
I had a phenomenal start to the school year.
I learned how to knit.
I kicked ass at karaoke.
I continued to establish some amazing friendships.
Oh, and no biggie, but I started my Masters Degree. I'm getting A's.

To improve for 2009:

NEED to follow some sort of budget.
NEED to track WW points and attend meetings - no matter what or where!
NEED to go on a date.
NEED to lose 20 lbs by my birthday. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT.
Knit a sweater before year-end.

I'll stop here with the so-called resolutions.

UPDATE: I just weighed in at WW @ 260 lbs. Not great; not too bad either. Still 30lbs. less than when I joined WW in 2003. But... 55 lbs. heavier than my lowest recorded weight. Ouch. I suppose I should post a 'Before' pic as well.
